The Amana RV Park & Event Center is located in the heart of the historic Amana Colonies, formerly one of the longest running communal religious societies in the Unites States. Today Amana offers family-style dining and tasty treats, wineries, Iowa’s oldest microbrewery, folk art, world-class furniture, museums, and championship golf course. Fun Festivals take place throughout the year to celebrate the exciting history of the Amana people. The Amana Colonies are one of America’s largest National Historic Landmarks.
This campground was clean quiet and well maintained. From the time I booked it to registering with Maureen and being accompanied to the site by Tim. Grounds were clean along with the bathroom and shower. Passport America is the way to go.
Another visit here with PA. As always a courteous, attentive staff and immaculate grounds. Great place at a great price!
This was our second stay and will stay again. Spacious, level gravel pull thru with full hookups. Grassy, pet friendly at a great PA rate. Helpful staff.
We were escorted to our site. It was 50 amp, we are 30 amp. He let us borrow the adaptor! Told it was 1/2 mile to Amana Colonies. It was 1.5 mile walk and exhausted us. The campsite is all open field. It is very windy, so no canopies or fires. Bathroom/ shower house was clean. Picnic tables and fire rings are first come, first serve and they don’t have very many. We enjoyed the Amana colonies. Not a long term place to stay but very acceptable for passing through.
We were on a trip out West. Our friends had told us of the Amana Colonies. We found a Passport America Campground in the area. The Campground was well run, friendly and a perfect spot to "drop the anchor". The sites were easy to access and near all the places to visit. We found many shops to visit. The woodworking shop was our favorite. There was a chair that was made on site. This solid wood chair had to be at least 15 -20 feet tall. You are encouraged to sit in the chair and take a picture. Anyone in the chair, looks like a midget! Glad we stayed at the RV Park! Ray and Kathy
