Rowboats, pedal boats, canoes and kayaks can be rented for use within the park during the summer season, and park interpreters host narrated pontoon boat tours on summer weekends and holidays.

The site of a large freshwater wetland, Trap Pond State Park hosts the northernmost natural stand of bald cypress trees in the United States. The forest of Trap Pond includes trails for bicycling and hiking, as well as views of the baldcypress trees growing out of the water.
