Park Events: Community BBQ’s with music and viewing through the telescope with noted astronomers. Exhibits by on-site artists and craftspeople. Trade shows featuring arts, crafts and gems / minerals. Area Attractions: Smuggler’s Roost is located in the Middle of Everywhere, surrounded by a wealth of wide-ranging activities and natural amenities which include extraordinary, yet not crowded state and national recreation areas, caves, mines, ghost towns, museums, historic locations, native sites, observatories, local wineries and micro-breweries. Located one mile from the old Animas Highway, a rustic but well-kept thoroughfare that will export you back to the 1800’s, providing 30+ miles of scenic views for mountain biking, ATV’s, running and horse-back riding. We have four affiliated birding sites throughout the region, with distinct habitats, including access to the Rock House just outside Cave Creek Canyon in Portal, AZ.
